A Dubai, United Arab Emirates-based photographer and videographer, David Ikuuh, is of the opinion that media professionals in the entertainment industry don’t get the credit they deserve.
In a statement sent to Sunday Scoop, he said, “The contributions of media professionals, especially the people who expose the industry through their works in photography and videography, are not adequately acknowledged. They don’t get due credit.”
Ikuuh, who has worked with top Nigerian entertainers such as Davido, Kizz Daniel, Ruger and Omah Lay, called on Nigerian entertainers to foster love and unity within the industry. He said, “I am passionate about the media, and the only way to grow in the business is to get involved in the music and entertainment industry because they work together. I was also fascinated by the glamour of the entertainment industry.
“Nigerian entertainment has gone global and it is getting bigger and better daily. My advice is that the practitioners should let love lead.”
Speaking on how his stay in the UAE had impacted his career, the creative said, “Dubai, being a tourist destination with high-tech facilities, has influenced the growth of the media and photography profession. It also pays more because we charge per hour for coverage compared to a full day in Nigeria.
Getting equipment abroad is far cheaper than in Nigeria. Again, the current economic challenges in Nigeria are big problems hindering growth.”
